shibori by proenza schouler

shibori 絞り染め - related to tie-dye - is an age-old Japanese craft technique where the cloth is being coloured with an aqueous solution. the fabric is worked by binding, stitching, folding, twisting, capping and compressing. jack and laz, proenza schouler's designers, based their 2011 spring collection on shibori. stunning and fascinating.
